Russia’s AFK Sistema not interested in buying 33% in Vimpelcom Ltd

MOSCOW, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Multi-industry holding AFK Sistema is not interested in buying 33% in Vimpelcom Ltd., the sole owner of Russian mobile operator VimpelCom, from Norway’s Telenor, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, the head of the Sistema’s board of directors, told PRIME on Tuesday.

“Of course, no. What for?” he said.

Earlier in October, Telenor said it will sell its stake in Vimpelcom Ltd, because it cannot control the company.
